Participation Criteria and Accreditation

A set of criteria for voucher service providers (VSP) selection and accreditation was developed in line with guidelines from the Ministry of Health and with input from the Technical Committee on VSP Accreditation and Quality Assurance. To qualify for selection and to provide services to OBA clients, providers are required to meet commercial, administrative and technical criteria which include infrastructure, equipment, and staffing requirements.

Following the selection process the VSPs are trained on quality management, reproductive health and the voucher system. Then the selected VSPs are accredited and contracted. A referral system was put in place for those VSPs who are not in a position to handle certain (medical) cases and for possible (medical) complications that may occur.
