Voucher Distribution

Approximately 150,000 vouchers are to be sold under the current OBA scheme. The programs (and, consequently, the vouchers to be marketed) focus is on the following interventions:

1. Safe Motherhood Services – Provide safe deliveries under medical supervision and post-natal care, registration of newborns
2. Familiy Planning Services – Provide clinical family planning services such as IUD insertion, tubal ligations and vasectomies
3. Gender-Based Violence Recovery Services – Subsidize care of abused women to the Women’s Hospital in Nairobi, in terms of treatment of injuries and counseling of affected individuals

In total, there are three different colored vouchers with one basic design for easy identification. The vouchers are positioned as a brand (kadi) in the targeted population.
The vouchers have features necessary to prevent fraud and help monitoring the OBA system. These include printing the voucher price on it, a hologram, a registration number for each voucher, and a space for the client’s name and place of residence to be recorded.
